"The best way to get kids to read a book is to say: ‘This book is not appropriate for your age, and it has all sorts of horrible things in it like sex and death and some really big and complicated ideas, and you’re better off not touching it until you’re all grown up. I’m going to put it on this shelf and leave the room for a while. Don’t open it."

do you ever think about how weird reading is

our eyes are able to scan these different symbols and construct the scenarios and concepts they describe in our mind

and these concepts have the power to twist our emotions and make us cry and laugh and wow reading is weird

i think it’s one of the most beautiful things in the world

The wind pulled at her bright orange-red hair, splaying it out behind her as the curls tumbled over each other. Her porcelain skin held the light across her small features, illuminating just how beautiful she was. Though diminutive she was striking and well proportioned. Her body had subtle though desirable curves in the right places. Her blue-grey eyes reflected light but held a darker shade within, a hint of something she hid away. Her voice sounded strongly while remaining humble and reserved. She smiled then and the world seemed brighter, even as she shyly rubbed her left arm with her right the world brightened around her. The smile reached her eyes easily and from across her face an easy and genuine warmth emanated. She was a small piece of heaven, left on earth by a careless deity though the gift was graciously accepted by those around her, especially me.

I’m scared.

I can’t force to to stay

Or hold you back

But I wish I could

Or that I was bound

To you

My mind is screaming

I love you I love you

My heart is moaning

For you to stay safe

With me

Please,

I can’t

Not without you

Maybe it’s just in America, but it seems that if you’re passionate about something, it freaks people out. You’re considered bizarre or eccentric. To me, it just means you know who you are.

shout out to all my followers struggling with their eating during the holidays, to everybody with unsupportive families, to everybody feeling weak, to everybody wanting to lock themselves in their room all night, to everybody anxious and panicked and feeling guilty while the people around them are enjoying themselves. you’re all so important to me and i hope this holiday season you can remember that you’re human and deserving of love no matter what.

With outstretched arms
I vowed to be your safety net.

Fall into me if need be,
I will catch you.

While I was on the ground,
preparing for her crossing of the beam,
she was already on the other side,
safe and sound.

What is my purpose now?
